Choose: A quick death... Or slow poison...
Another series that I love happens to be the Study series, by Maria V. Snyder. The main character, Yelena, is a kick-butt chick. She is strong and full of fire, bent on survival. Can you imagine what it would be like to be a food taster, faced with poisons on a daily basis and the risk of dying? Yelena has a lot of freaking will to live, let me tell you. And of course, Valek absolutely stole my heart. He's like an insane ninja assassin - dark and stoic. But then, he does and says things that just make me swoon and want to melt right out of my seat. There are also those secondary characters who just make you laugh and liven things up, like Ari and Janco. This series is wonderfully written and full of action. I absolutely LOVE these books and highly recommend them. Content warning: Poison Study deals with some slightly darker issues than its successors.

I agree this is a great series. I enjoyed Inside Out and Outside In too.
You might also enjoy THE KEY and GIRL GONE NOVA by Pauline Baird. Loved them both!
I've heard nothing but good things about this series. I really need to read them.
